The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman

Diane chose the book and hosted the discussion.

This book was chosen by Diane after seeing it on a bookshelf at an open house in Delaware.

The author, M. L. Stedman, is a woman, Margo, who is from Perth, Australia and lives primarily in London. She is a very private person with not much information to be found on her.

The Light Between Oceans got very high praise from the group. We liked the writing style and found it to be a difficult book to put down. We found ourselves looking for a "bad guy" in the book and never found one. The decision made regarding Lucy and the resulting lies were so far-reaching; it impacted so many lives.

We empathized with so many characters as their lives were turned upside down by one act. Tom loved Isabelle so much and would have done anything for her happiness. This was a sad story of love and extreme loss with highs and lows of emotions and conflicts for all the characters.

This book is being made into a movie to be released in August 2015.
